[TiO2(001)3x1 structure.]

This structure for the TiO2(001)3x1 surface was determined using direct phasing methods applied to grazing incidence X-ray diffraction data. The titanium atoms are orange, and the oxygen atoms are light blue. This structure has been able to account for all of the experimental data available for this surface which is important in many catalytic processes.
