Curriculum Vitae

Research Interests

Although first proposed in 1964, flexoelectricity, the electromechanical coupling between polarization and strain gradient, in crystalline solids has remained largely unexplored. Using a combination of experimental techniques (direct flexoelectric coefficient measurements, photoelectron spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, and electron microscopy) and ab initio calculations, my work aims to understand the physical origin of the flexoelectric effect in oxides.
